Solution What is Live View Shooting? With your camera, you can shoot while viewing a real-time image on the camera's LCD monitor. This is called "Live View shooting." This image can be magnified by 5x or 10x, so you can focus the camera more precisely. Live View is a setting in the menu under the middle yellow icon, second from the bottom and yes you can use it while taking pictures and you can see the preview on your computer with the DPP software that came with the 1000D doesn't really have a "vivid" color setting but you can set picture styles by pressing the down button.
